Trophy Turkey

Randy brought home a trophy from his evening hunt on Friday, April 20, 2007. The bird was a nice take and Randy was pleased.

The girls were fascinated....so was the dog!

Sleepover Fun

McKenzie and McKayla had friends over on Spring Break. They enjoyed sharing Papa's new puppies, movies, junkfood, karaoke and fun....not sure why these events are called "sleep"overs.

Easter

Hello All. Time to catch up a bit.
Easter is always a special time in Kentucky. Signs of spring appear and little southern girls are required by tradition to don a new "frock" for Sunday service. I tried to keep up the tradition of patent shoes and "banana curls" for a few years, but have since decided to allow the girls to choose their own "frocks"..... Notice how they reflect their individual personalities!

Winter 2007

Hello, everyone. I've neglected this project but I will try to do better :-P
Below are some of the things keeping us occupied
this winter.
RIDING LESSONS
McKenzie & McKayla have started riding lessons. They are really enjoying them, and Randy and I can't believe how much there is to know about horses and how to ride! We are actually learning alot too.

This will be good preparation to see if the girls can handle a horse of their own someday....and whether they will be able to take care of it (a lot of shovelin' goes on at that barn!)

MUSIC
Madison keeps busy with music. She is always playing piano and has started to play with her "boyfriend's" gospel group. She helps with their practices and attends performances...They are quite good actually!
She still plays saxophone and recently earned "first chair" at the Lake Cumberland District Honor's Band competition.

MID-LIFE
Randy & I try to work in exercise, reading and snuggling together each day between work, school/church, dinner, homework, laundry, cleaning and activities. It is difficult sometimes, but we are blessed with each other, a good life, health, good kids, many comforts and blessings. We thank God for all.

October Happenings

In busy October, we attended lots of Band Competitions for Maddie GEE! She's the one with the Saxophone!
I made a trip to California to visit my sister and my favorite place in CA....Big Sur.

Also went to San Francisco for the day...that's us hangin' on the cable car!
Here we are getting ready for Halloween.

Everybody had a hand in creating the masterpieces!

Fall Bike Ride -- Blue Ridge Parkway

Some of the beautiful scenery on our Fall Bike Ride. These are photos of Cherokee Lake in Tennessee.

Scenes from the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia and North Carolina.

We stopped at a roadside "Trading Post" and these lovely creatures were in the pasture across the street!
Everyone should take the opportunity to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is a beautiful area that highlights the splendor of God's creation. I hope I get the chance to go again and to explore the northern leg of the Parkway too sometime!

McKayla got a perm! Part of that personality development thing going on!

Lots of fun at Maddie's 14th birthday party.

Nana takes everyone to Hard Rock Cafe to celebrate Maddie's 14th birthday....planned by Mimi and Abe as they arrived in Nashville. Randy is taking the photo...
We've been so busy since school started. Lots to catch up on including: first day of school.... see McKenzie (pink shirt) and McKayla (blue skirt)...that's the first day of 3rd grade and the first day of seperate classrooms for them.

The whitewater photos (and the cake) are from my surprise birthday celebration! Randy and I rafted the Ocoee River (upper and middle sections) for about six hours! Class 3,4&5 rapids..it was GREAT fun!
My mom also gave me tickets to see my favorite singing group...Selah! I enjoyed their concert in Nashville more than any show I've ever seen! It was terrific.

Can you believe this photo? Madison started high school this year. This is the morning of the first day of her Freshman year. Isn't she lovely? I can't believe how grown up she is!

M & M Birthday Celebration

On Friday, July 28, we had a "Roaring Dinosaur" party...McKayla's choice. We had a sleepover and it sounded alot like dinosaurs roaring until the wee hours of the morning!
Then on Saturday, July 29, we took the 2nd cake (Puppy Dogs...McKenzie's choice) to the water park along. Several friends came along and everyone had a great time!
Can't believe the girls are eight!

Sleepover fun!
